Glee Volume 2

While still a great CD, it doesn't beat the first volume. Of course the songs are a lot more enjoyable while actually watching the kids from Glee perform it on television, but it'll do when you're in that "musical" mode. Which happens to me a lot.

I was mostly disappointed because "Single Ladies" isn't included on the soundtrack. Com'on that was the BEST episode ever!

Enjoy!

The Beatles - The White Album

Being the Beatles fanatic that I am, when I heard they had come out with the remastered copies of this and other Beatles' albums, I knew I was going to have to buy them.

I love The White Album, I only owned a copy of it before I purchased the remastered album and it just wasn't the same. There's something about owning the CD itself and looking at the leaflet inside and displaying it on your shelf.

I just love that.

Tori Amos - Midwinter Graces

This is more than a Christmas Album, Tori has dubbed it a solstice album which combines songs from all beliefs and cultures. It's originally Tori. This isn't one of those Christmas albums where the artist's talent is hidden behind cheesy Christmas carols.

This is from the heart and the songs are original scores written by Tori sometimes incorporating parts of familiar Christmas songs such as Noel but with unique and beautiful melodies. This album is addicting and very peaceful, it's been a constant in my house for the holidays.

Track List:

1 - What Child, Nowell
2 - Star Of Wonder
3 - A Silent Night With You
4 - Candle: Coventry Carol
5 - Holly, Ivy & Rose
6 - Harps Of Gold
7 - Snow Angel
8 - Jeanette, Isabella
9 - Pink & Glitter
10 - Emmanuel
11 - Winter’s Carol
12 - Our New Year

Flyleaf - Again

This is Flyleaf's new single and it's not bad! No awful screaming like their last couple of songs so I'm looking forward to their CD being released.

Tori Amos - Boys For Pele

I've been going through all the albums on my IPOD and choosing my favorite songs to make a play list and I got stuck on this one. I included every single song as part of my favorites!

I play it over and over all day long. Sometimes you just need a little Tori in your life.

Fall Out Boy - From Under The Cork Tree

This is the first Fall Out Boy CD that I ever owned and this is the CD from which my love affair with FOB sprung.

Thursday, November 12, 2009

Ben Folds Five - Whatever and Ever Amen

Pearl Jam - Just Breathe

I might just have to buy their new CD, I didn't think Pearl Jam could come out with a good album this late in the game but I'm willing to check it out.

Thursday, November 5, 2009

Sarah McLachlan - Afterglow

An oldy but a goody.

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

Jason Derulo - Whatcha Say

Ok, this song has officially grown on me. I LOVE the chorus! I think it's permanently stuck in my head!

"Mmmmmm Whatcha Saaaay"

(You're welcome)

KT Tunstall - Eye to the Telescope

Love the acoustic guitar with her raw melodies. She's got such a great throaty voice I love it.

Black Horse and a Cherry Tree anyone?

Kings Of Leon - Only By The Night

This is their fourth album! I didn't even know they existed until last year, but I'm glad I found them. They are definitely rockers and remind me a bit of the Rolling Stones. Not every song on the cd is a hit but it is full of rockin jams and strong ballads so it is definitely worth purchasing!

Billy Talent - Billy Talent II

This cd came out in 2006 and I was just introduced to it this year by Lindee, my lil sis. You know what this cd is good for? Working out! It's the best cd to keep you pumped. For real! It's a mix of rock and screamo, I'm not usually a big fan of screamo but they keep it under control in this CD so it works.

Tool - 10,000 Days

I'm a big Tool fan and I usually love all their Cd's, but this one left me a little disappointed. There are a couple of good songs but then there are songs that really are just a bunch of sound effects piled on top of each other. So it's an okay CD but definitely not my favorite Tool album.

Wednesday, October 7, 2009

Paramore - Brand New Eyes

Oh my sweet, sweet Paramore. You've stolen my heart and it is gone forever.

Monday, October 5, 2009

The Used - Artwork

I opted out of putting the cover of this album on the link because I didn't want to scare anybody away! So for your viewing pleasure...

Wednesday, September 30, 2009

Muse - The Resistance

Here's another one I picked up over the weekend. I've only heard good things about it! Muse reminds me of Queen, of course nobody will ever be like Queen, but certain aspects of Muse definitely have a Queen sort of tint to them.

Great CD folks, Muse is one of those bands everybody can like.

Monday, September 28, 2009

Brand New - Daisy

I love Brand New! It's been FOREVER since they came out with a new CD, Lindee told me that this one came out last Tuesday and that it was SO good and I SO agree!

Thursday, September 24, 2009

Kings of Leon - Notion

Kings of Leon's new single!

Tuesday, September 22, 2009

Tool - Aenima

I was weeding the flower beds the other day while listening to my ipod and this Tool CD came on. Man, I forgot how much I love this CD! Maynard is my home boy, seriously. There is nobody out there that will ever compete with Maynard. (Not counting his other bands or projects!)

It's great angry music and great thinking music!

Friday, September 18, 2009

Jack Johnson - In Between Dreams

I heart Jack Johnson!

Wednesday, September 16, 2009

U2 - How To Dismantle An Automic Bomb

Love this CD! I don't think U2 will ever get old.

Monday, September 14, 2009

Audioslave - Out of Excile

I've been reloading my itunes library (don't ask) so I've come across a lot of old CDs I forgot I had! This being one of them, love it! The band is actually Soundgarden's Chris Cornell with the instrumentalists from Rage Against The Machine.

Who knew?

Thursday, September 10, 2009

The Pussy Cat Dolls - Doll Domination

I am mostly a rocker chick but I do have my guilty pleasures, PCD being one of them. This cd is great for work outs!

Wednesday, September 9, 2009

Nelly Furtado - Loose

Friday, September 4, 2009

Blue October - Approaching Normal

I featured Blue October a while back because I loved their new single. Well now their CD has come out and I finally bought it. I love Blue October! My favorite songs on the album are "Say It" & "Dirt Room".

However "Weight Of The World" is pretty dang good too.

Wednesday, September 2, 2009

Lady Gaga - The Fame

I know what you're thinking. You bought Lady Gaga? You?

Hey, just because I mostly listen to rock and alternative doesn't mean I don't have my guilty pleasures and one of them is dancing which is where this lady comes in ok?

So deal with it.

Monday, August 31, 2009

Lily Allen - It's Not Me, It's You

I've had Lily Allen featured here before for her song The Fear and I liked it so much I finally bought her album.

Lily is kind of like Amy Whinehouse without the rats nest hairdo and drugs. And when I say like, I mean Lily is way better! I love Lily's voice when she sings because she sings with an accent.

You know when you hear a singer talk for the first time you are surprised that they have an accent because when they sing you can't tell. Well Lily is the only one I've seen that actually sings with her accent.

I love it.

The Used - Lies For The Liars

Home grown right here in Utah. Orem in fact! Imagine that, Orem must be so proud!

I love The Used and not just because they are Happy Valley misfits, their music rocks. I've had this CD for a while, the only thing I don't like about them is when they scream in their songs.

Hello? That's not singing.

But I sill love them! This is the album cover:

Pearl Jam - The Fixer

They're still alive. Who knew?

Monday, August 24, 2009

Maino - All The Above

I'm sorry people but I can't stand this song. The lyrics just drive me crazy! They are just so stupid. I'm a hater and my husband is a lover. He blasts it in the car and even sings just to annoy me.

No more!

Thursday, August 20, 2009

The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I will always be a Beatles fan! Even though they are oldies, their music never gets old! So if you're not a fan, you need to check yo'self!

Tuesday, August 18, 2009

Natasha Bedingfield

Love her.

Thursday, August 13, 2009

Amberlin - Feel Good Drag

Tuesday, August 11, 2009

Billy Boy On Poison - On My Way

This band was actually introduced to me on X96. Keifer Sutherland actually came to Utah to promote the band, he is their producer. Isn't that interesting? Keifer Sutherland coming to lil ol' Utah to promote his band. Well nobody heard of them before Keifer came here and now they are huge. That happens a lot with X96, they can make no name bands huge!

Metric - Help, I'm Alive

I love the beginning of this song, it's a slow pulsating and pounding opening with the echoing first line:

"I tremble"

Sung by the lead singer, a chick, Emily Haines. You know I love a chick lead singer! (Tori Amos, Paramore, Shiny Toy Guns, Gwen Stafani, etc etc) I've actually never heard of Metro before until I heard this song but I hear the whole album, Fantasies, is great!

Apparently Mark from Blink 182 is a huge fan of Metro and raves about their new album on his blog constantly.

Check out the video:

Pure rock.

Lucky - Jason Mraz ft. Colbie Collait

I love this song, it is so sweet!

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

3OH!3 - Don't Trust Me
